Our Story

Crafted with tradition, perfected with passion.

A Royal Beginning

In 1939, Crown Royal was created to honor the first grand tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Master blender Samuel Bronfman meticulously combined 50 select whiskies to craft a blend worthy of royalty. The whisky was presented in a cut glass decanter and wrapped in a regal purple bag with gold stitching, placed aboard the royal train as a symbol of Canadian hospitality.

Crafted in Gimli, Manitoba

Nestled along the western shore of Lake Winnipeg, the small town of Gimli is home to the Crown Royal distillery. Here, a dedicated team oversees the creation of our signature whisky, using locally sourced grains and pure limestone-filtered water. The whisky is aged in charred oak barrels, developing its distinctive smoothness over time.

A Legacy of Excellence

Since its inception, Crown Royal has remained committed to quality and craftsmanship. Each bottle embodies the spirit of Canadian tradition, offering a smooth and refined whisky experience cherished by connoisseurs worldwide.
